Important Updates: Working Parents Assistance in Montgomery County
A Win for Montgomery County Families
Dear Allies,
Earlier this week, our partners at Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) shared exciting updates to the County’s Working Parents Assistance (WPA) Program, which helps eligible County residents pay for child care. Updates include:
There is no longer a waitlist for WPA. School-age families who were on the waitlist have had their applications processed, and new families can now apply for WPA with no waitlist.
There is support available for families impacted by freeze on the State of Maryland’s Child Care Scholarship (CCS) Program. Montgomery County families actively on the CCS waitlist can now apply for WPA.
Thank you to DHHS for helping hundreds more local families access child care! Please help us spread the word among families with children ages 0-12 that there is support available, and that families should act quickly to ensure their application is processed. Share this email or the link to the WPA application page.
Sincerely,
The Alliance team
